DCS Cabling System

Plug & Play
Sundaya’s DC Cabling Systems (DCS), based on the Plug & Play concept, is the best solution for installing Decentralized Power System. Installation will be fast and easy and at the same time highly reliable. No more big toolkits needed for you or your installation technicians; a cable nipper or scissors; a hammer, allen-key and 1 screw driver are sufficient to quick and neatly install all wiring for a Solar Home System.

Sundaya’s DCS has 6 main ingredients as follows:

Hub1
This is a cable set that normally is supplied together with a Sundaya Storage System (S3, S4 or S5) The Hub1 is designed to make the DC installation look neat; instead of many cables running up and down your wall; now only 1 cable connects both Charger and Load to your storage system with 1 plug. Above the Ceiling you can connect the Charger (either from a Solar Panel, Sundaya’s DC10 or any other Sundaya recommended DC Generating Source.

DCS Cable
The DCS cable has a unique shape that allows easy recognition of the wires polarity. The positive wire has a square shape and the negative a round shape. Besides the shape, a clear marking on the positive wire is also made to clearly indicate polarity and capacity of the cable.

In low voltage DC installations; the most important factors limiting the capacity of a certain cable size are the current running through (measured in Ampere > A) and the distance from source to load (measured in meter > m)

This is why Sundaya developed a cable standard using Ampere-meter or Am as a value to indicate the capacity of a cable.

Sundaya presently offers 3 standard cable capacities as follows:
DCS 50Am
DCS 30Am
DCS 15Am

With the “Am-number” the technician can easily calculate and select the right wire for a certain load as follows:

Rule : The multiplication of Distance between Source and Load (in m) and the maximum current that is expected to flow (in A) should not exceed the Am-number marked on the cable.

Example: 2 lamps of 6W (1A) are to be connected to the Storage system which is 20 meters away from the Lamps. > 1A x 20m = 20Am, which means that a 15Am cable is too small and a 30Am is the right cable to use.

T-Con
The T-Con is a connector device that can be used to make a T or Cross Connection to create either 1 or 2 braches from the main distribution cable. The T-Con consists of 2 halves that click together sandwiching the cables. The parts that come in contact with the cables have a unique profile shape to prevent the possibility of a reverse polarity connection. Usage is very simple. Just push in the 2 cables in the right orientation in the base, and then close it with the cover. In case the cable is placed with the wrong polarities, the device will not close. After closing all screws are to be tightened and connection is achieved.

S-Con
The S-Con is a connector device that is similar to T-Con but this device is used to connect one side to a switch and the other side to the Load. The use of T-Con and S-Con in your installation give a very good and professional look to your SHS installations, and of course at the same time make the installations reliable.

Pull-on
The Pull-on is a pull switch with a fast connector terminal that in combination with the S-Con can be used for ultra fast installation. The DCS Cable can just be cut at the intended length pushed into the connector without stripping of wire. After tightening the screws the connection is made.

Pullite
The Pullite is another unique Sundaya product. This product integrates the function of extender, Apollo and Switch into 1 device. With the Pull-on you will achieve the most simple and quickest installation time possible. You can switch on and off the Lamp by just pulling the cable of the lamp.

Rollon
Sundaya’s wallswitch is a switch with rotating knob that can either fit over standard “clipsal wall boxes” or mounted directly on the wall. The terminal is of the type as used in the Pullite and pullon which allows a very quick and neat installation.

Plugin
Sundaya’s wallsocket is a double socket with build-in slide-switch. Further it has the same features as the Wallswitch.

D-Plug
Sundaya’s DC plug is available with screw fitting and also as a cable moulded plug. The plug fits with the Wallsocket and also the DC sockets in the side panel of the S3.

C-Plug
The DC contra-plug can be used to extend a cable.
